In the past 15 years the use phase of garments is decreased by 36% and the clothing production is app. doubled btw. 2000-2015. An estimated one-third of imported garments to Europe is never sold. 

The purpose of CircularTex is to develop and test new textile solutions and value propositions for markets that will lead to a slowing of textile resource loops.

A scaling of fashion resale requires traceability of individual garments and technology for locating and disseminating one-offs on the secondary market, as well as a deeper understanding of value creation and market mechanisms.

Local sewing of cloth, which can be cost-effective with sew-robots, can eliminate large quantities of excess production due to a fast response to market demands with a short supply chain.

The purpose of One Textile Direction is to establish a new state-of-the-art for circular design, procurement, use, and reuse of textiles for the private household, public, and private professional sectors.

PROLONG is a project focused on extending the lifespan of clothing to combat overproduction and overconsumption in the fashion industry, thereby reducing CO₂ emissions. 

The DECOUPLE project has a vision of decoupling resource consumption and economic growth in the textile industry and thereby paving the way for transitioning the textile industry into a circular economy.

UnBlend aims to create a universal blueprint for circularity in performance textiles such as upholstery and carpets. The project addresses design for longevity, reuse through repurposing, and fiber-to-fiber recycling of complex textile blends like wool and nylon.

Tex2AM aims to transform low-value textile waste into sustainable 3D printing material using thermo-mechanical recycling. The project creates a new circular value chain between the textile and manufacturing industries by converting hard-to-recycle textiles into usable polymer filament or pellets. 

The TRACE Booster project lays the foundation for Stem Mill, a future weaving mill reviving Denmark’s woven textile production. The project brings together 19 knowledge partners to co-develop the framework for the Stem Mill.
